Taylor Swift's grovelling apology to Nicki Minaj after MTV row: 'I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke'
Taylor has taken to Twitter to admit defeat in their recent row
Taylor Swift has issued a grovelling apology to Nicki Minaj, admitting she misunderstood the rapper in their recent Twitter feud.
The
star took to Twitter two days after a disappointed Nicki unleashed a
string of angry messages directed at MTV, which Taylor mistakenly
thought were directed at her.
Nicki tweeted: “If your video
celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of
the year. I'm not always confident. Just tired. Black women influence
pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it (sic). "
Taylor
fired back: "I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike
you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your
slot.."
I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I'm sorry, Nicki.

But now Taylor has admitted defeat, writing: "I thought I was
being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke.
I'm sorry, Nicki. @NICKIMINAJ."
It comes after Nicki rushed to
explain her message wasn't intended for Taylor, having seen the singer's
response, writing: "Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn't say a
word about u. I love u just as much."
And having got most famous faces involved by then, Taylor's rival Katy Perry even waded in.
While fans speculated that Taylor Swift's Bad Blood was written about rival Katy Perry it has never been confirmed – until now. Katy Perry and Taylor Swift used to be so close
In a tweet that appears to finally confirm their dislike for
one another, Katy said Taylor had a nerve to be talking about pitting
women against each other.
“Finding it ironic to parade the pit
women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes
on the take down of a woman...(sic),” she wrote.
Nicki later favourited it.
Ouch.

Katy then went on to back her good friend Rihanna whose video
for B**ch Better Have My Money missed out on a nod at this year's Video
Music Awards.
